Ubuntu Kylin 16.04 LTS was officially released as part of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Official Flavors. This introduces many enhancements, updated components, new tweaks and under-the-hood optimizations.
Here’s the Hightlight of New Ubuntu Kylin 16.04 LTS :
- Unity 7.4 design with the Launcher placed at the bottom of the screen, by default.
- Powered by the same long-term supported kernel as Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, Linux Kernel Series 4.4
- Get new lock screen and display manager
- Ubuntu Kylin Software Center as the default graphical package manager
- China Weather Indicator was improved
- Updated Sogou Chinese Pinyin input method, and the latest Kingsoft WPS office suite
- Include Youker tools, such as Youker Assitant, Youker Search, Youker Weather, Youker Fcitx, and Youker Calender
- Support for Pinyin Search in the Unity Dash, support for placing applications, folders, files, links, and shortcuts into a single container
