OpenSUSE Leap 42.1 is the latest version linux distribution based on the core of SUSE Linux Enterprise. ships with KDE Plasma 5 as default desktop environment, include the most of KDE Apps version 15.08 and powered by the Linux Kernel 4.1 LTS.

This release get numerous improvements, modules, and various other under-the-hood changed to YaST, among which a new user interface and centralized user authentication on the system in the revamped Authentication Client Configuration (ACC) module.

The filesystem also changed, Btrfs is the default filesystem for root, and XFS for the /home directory. Btrfs allows users to take full advantage of Snapper when Btrfs is selected as the file system. Users can recover the previous status of the system using snapshots.
